What does it mean to be bad? To hurt others? To take advantage of the less fortunate? I like to simplify it to just good and bad. Imagine there are only two people: A good one and a bad one. They both can do the same things like work, eat, communicate, think, etc. What matters is what they believe and what they do. Now, for simplicities sake, the good one is kind, helpful, and cares about the bad one. The bad one is deceitful, cunning, and will kill the good one whenever he has the opportunity. They both work and produce value and goes about their day. It will only take time until the good one has enough. Then, they will not share companionship, ideas, labor, value, and all else. Then, the bad one cannot hurt the good one. They are alone. Either they kill the good one or they learn. Under the right conditions, the bad one will kill the good one. Then, under no circumstance can the bad one repent and grow. They will have forfeited the only chance of growing and changing. Let’s apply this to real life: If a bad person repeats the same offense so many times, they will be identified and apprehended. Prison is not for rehabilitation so most likely they will become worse and lose a part of themselves. If a person does enough bad decisions to not get arrested, they will live in this cycle of pain until they hurt themselves (whether by hurting someone else). However, under the right circumstances (like billionaires and people who unethically attain wealth or opportunities), people who make bad decisions can come in power. The rule of thumb is that they will come in power. This is because the harsh world we live scares us into hurting others. Add to that the very nature of humans reproducing exponentially with natural filters like disasters and diseases; the world is a perfect environment for pain. When there is pain, people are hurt. As time progresses and humans continue to live, there will be opportunities for certain individuals who are born in the right place and time to come into power. These powerful figures who are hurt and never healed because they are surrounded by pain now have the opportunity to grow at the expense of others. It is in their interest to maintain this position and maintain others below them. Any smart person who is hurt and is put in a position of power will abuse their power. However, an even smarter person will forgive and share their power. I don’t blame people for being scared or insecure and trying to monopolize their power (I don’t excuse and support illegal decisions). It is a smart move. However, they do not understand that when they hurt others in order to advance, they will eventually need those very same people. For example, if a billionaire who takes advantage of customers by exploiting their money and denying their insurance in order to profit from them, they are also hurting themselves. Maybe not directly and as badly as the people at the bottom, but for example this CEO has children who’s best friend is denied insurance. Then, the child of the CEO is heartbroken and this hurts the CEO. In other words, we are all connected to each other. Earth is a closed system. Not to mention we are finite beings and will die one day. Okay, last example: Imagine one of a couple individuals are able to enslave a whole race and live forever. They live in luxury and in pleasure for millennia. Imagine the enslave could never revolt and the rich few in control never lose. They will be lonely. They will be powerless. They might enjoy their life for eons, but they will not be remembered. They will be forgotten. They will not live. They will not be alive. The enslaved are suffering and dying and under the most unimaginable destruction; yet they are alive and they live through each other. It is a much worthwhile life crying next to your parents or partner, then to live as a king. Although it hurts to lose, that very same thing is worth living for and trying and failing. That is The Human Condition Problem. That is the fight of our lives.
